FLY AGARIC NIGHTSHADE TRUFFLE
I had the pleasure of enjoying the most delicious Fly Agaric Nightshade Truffle, ever! Made from a blend of premium Belgian and American chocolate, Fly Agaric Mushrooms, Datura, Brugmansia, Rue, Oranges, Bay Leaf, Roasted Pine Nuts, and other natural flavorings. It is not only enjoyable chocolate but also a sacred medicine. As a member of The Oklevueha Native American Church, I utilize plant medicine in my practice. In my personal earth walk spirituality, I enjoy shadow work as much as light work. There is a great deal of respect for balance in what I do. This truffle and the other products at Emporium Black are the best tools for working with plant medicines that most would label as “poison plants.”
Seamus Black, the owner of Emporium Black, is a retired chef and chocolatier as well as an artist, pagan, and plant lover. Drawing their inspiration for these nightshade truffles from their time living on a reservation. There Seamus was heavily involved with the Native American Church. Seamus was looking for a way to help non-Native Americans make similar connections with plants. As well as giving these plants back to the people by helping to bring them back out of the shadows.
My Experience
There was a lot of death surrounding me recently. I felt this experience was much needed. If you have read my previous articles, you may know I see Datura as an ally. Datura is one plant I really feel calls to me. I’ve learned a lot about myself, the deep self, from Datura. In a search for the right medicine for this time of my life, I could not deny my mind, body, and soul a divine truffle. The combination of plants contained in this particular truffle includes a fungus. Amanita Muscaria is a wonderful guide for dreams and visions of the “underworld.”
I wanted to set the right intention. So I created an altar to Santisima Muerte, I wanted a deeper understanding and comfort with death. My goal was not to peek beyond the veil. The intention was to have a connection with the Santisima. I used some sap I collected from a tree on Mount Shasta in my incense censor. This helped to create the perfect vibe in my urban apartment. Before opening the boxed truffle I needed to create a mood.
Unboxing
Un-boxed, the truffle is wrapped in a green sheet. I took the time to smoke a mixture of cannabis and water hash, offering the truffle and a cigar along with my smoke mix to Santisima Muerte. Solidifying my intentions and burning more sap on my goal. Asking to be received by Our Lady of Death. I asked to be cloaked by the plant medicine. Begging to feel her embrace, I asked only for connection and guidance.
The Truffle
As I toked more and contemplated my meditation, I gazed into the eye sockets of the skull Seamus places upon each truffle. I saw this skull in the very same way a follow of Santana Dharma views a statue of a deity. To me, this skull represented the combined spirit of each plant residing in the truffle. The skull is an Avatar. I looked into the sockets with reverence, contemplating my meditation and whispering my intention. Asking to be cloaked in the spirit of the truffle as I journey into the nether realms.
Love at first bite!
I took each bite of the Fly Agaric Nightshade Truffle with great respect. Giving the chocolate time to melt in my mouth, tasting each bit as the plant spirits combined with my own. So silky smooth and absolutely tasty. Seamus’s creations are truly divine. In fact, even if these truffles only contained the magick of Cacao, I would still enjoy them completely! Upon completely consuming bite by bite and savoring each nibble, I began my meditation.
Thinning the veil
After eating I settled before my altar with eyes closed allowing my thoughts to ebb and flow. As my thoughts ebb and flow, I appreciate the silence between them. I start to feel a tingling from the nape of my neck rise above my head until engulfing my entire body in bliss. At this point, there was no ebb and flow, my thoughts were quiet. I felt clear yet connected.
At some point, I feel the need to lay down. Aside from a candle, the room is clad in darkness. I move in and out of different scenarios in my mind. Some seem like vivid pictures of someone else’s past, yet I feel a strange sense of understanding and meaning emulating from the visions. Others are visions of my past, present, and potential future. These visionary states of divination become slightly interrupted by the feeling of someone laying next to me. I am not alarmed at first, till I feel a breath and realize I’m supposed to be alone. Or am I?
I sat back up facing the altar and decided I should blow out my candle. After blowing out the candle I got laid back down to continue the visionary experience. Hard to say how long this lasted but I eventually sat back up to pack a bowl of herbs and hash. I put more sap on my coal and toked my bowl while giving thanks and praises for the visions I received.
Nightwalk
At some point, I was urged to take my journey outdoors. I felt like I was cutting through the dense Southern New England night air. The city I live in has a dark ominous vibe at night. So desolate, with old architecture you don’t see much out West. Amongst the old Roman Catholic churches that hark back to ages of religious oppression, there are the scattered abandoned factories. These factories that are left, come from the birth of the industrial revolution. I’m reminded of my hometown’s experience as it has grown through different periods of time. As my feet guide me, I feel I’m walking alongside my relatives whom I’ve never met. My father’s family has been a part of this town’s collective experience since it existed.
Conclusion and Review
All in all my experience was auspicious. I highly recommend these truffles to any shadow workers and those generally interested in plant medicines. I give the Fly Agaric Nightshade Truffle a 10 out of 10. Seamus packaged these truffles properly with an ice pack. This prevented any spoiling or melting. I kept the package safely in my fridge for about a week before consuming any of it. The look was just as displayed on the Emporium Black website, and the taste was incredibly better than described.
I will be reviewing the White Chocolate Datura Jasmine Truffle next! So look out for that! Also, if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment! Also, I invite you to please suggest any other plant medicine product that you would like to see me do a review of!
I would love to thank Seamus Black! You and your work are greatly appreciated. You are an inspiration!
